Twelve Oaks Floors features seven wood species, 50 unique designs, and smooth or distressed finishes, all at great prices. Featuring a multi-layer core that runs in opposite directions in alternate layers, Twelve Oaks engineered flooring is designed to perform well in harsh Canadian weather conditions. Twelve Oaks Floors offers engineered hardwood products that are E1 rated for formaldehyde emissions. It is important to note that all Twelve Oaks Floors’ manufacturing partners are certified to the most stringent industry standards for quality and emissions, such as CARB-II and/or FloorScore (depending on the type of flooring product). Additionally, all Twelve Oaks Floors flooring products are subjected to rigorous testing. Each type of flooring is subjected to a series of tests to ensure that it conforms to the highest industry standards and is subject to strict quality control. Twelve Oaks Floors employs a highly trained Quality Control department at its manufacturing facilities that inspect every batch of the product closely. To ensure quality and safety, each batch of product is tested in a laboratory prior to shipment (namely for formaldehyde emissions). Twelve Oaks Floors documents all tests with detailed test results as well as photos in order to ensure the accuracy of the results.

Approximately 90% of people spend their time indoors. According to the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI), indoor air can be 10 times more polluted than outdoor air due to the high concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

It was developed by RFCI in collaboration with Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), an independent laboratory, to ensure flooring products meet indoor air quality emission requirements, particularly those related to specific volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Homeowners, Beware!
There are known cancer-causing substances in VOCs, especially formaldehyde. They can cause headaches, burning eyes, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. In spite of the fact that many flooring brands claim to emit low levels of VOCs, you should not assume a product has met any of these indoor air quality standards unless it carries a FloorScore® or CARB Phase II compliance label on its packaging, and unless it can provide documentation to support its claim.

Twelve Oaks Floors’ Certifications
A new regulation concerning formaldehyde emissions from hardwood and related products was adopted by the California Air Resource Board (CARB) in 2010. According to CARB Phase II regulations, formaldehyde emissions must not exceed 0.05ppm - a safe level. The entire Twelve Oaks Floors product line is FloorScore® certified, and their engineered products are also in compliance with CARB Phase II and EPA 40 C.F.R. 770.
The Floorscore Certifications of Twelve Oaks Floors
Among hard surface flooring materials, adhesives, and underlayments, FloorScore® is the most widely recognized standard for indoor air quality (IAQ). The product was developed by SCS in collaboration with the RFCI, a leading trade association for flooring manufacturers and suppliers, and qualifies for several green building certification programs, including LEED v4, WELL, BREEAM, and CHPS.
